They didn't count on Optimus Prime being present with the boy and the trio began to fight the Autobot leader. He later joined both Megatron and Starscream in the forest hunting Sam. Grindor arrived to find Sam driving with Mikaela Banes, and wasted no time in hoisting the whole car up and taking them to a deserted facility before leaving. NEST easily managed to anchor him to the ground with an electrified cable before he could retreat, but Grindor was saved when a pair of foolish Autobots accidentally shot the cable. He came under attack by NEST forces intending to capture him, to which Grinder used his rotors to create a whirlwind that hurled cars at his enemies. Somewhat fed up, Grindor was pleased to be ordered to cut open the car and retrieve a Cybertronian memory tree.
In Learning Curve, Grindor was sent to Las Vegas by Soundwave, but was frustrated at Soundwave's vagueness, being directed to an old car. 1.3.1 Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen toy bios.
